Nocturna

Nocturna is a real-time generative art installation that uses fluid dynamics, complex particle systems, and a custom built deformable touchscreen to create an interactive digital tide pool. Taking visual influence from bioluminescent creatures found in nature, it displays constantly evolving generative organisms that react to touch. The system is projected onto an interactive lycra touchscreen, allowing participants to shape the emergent behavior of the organisms by softly touching or pressing into the surface. Nocturna is meant to create an immersive, tactile, and pleasant interactive experience that transports participants to a vibrant and familiar alien world.
